November news from St George in Bloom

ST George in Bloom held its annual awards ceremony in October at the Pavilion, Bristol East Allotments Association.

We were delighted with a record number of entries this year, including front gardens, shops and commercial premises, and numerous allotment plots within three local sites in St George.

The Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Jos Clark, was the guest of honour who presented all the awards at the special ceremony.

St George in Bloom also wishes to sincerely thank the chair and committee members from Bristol East Allotments Association for allowing St George in Bloom to host the ceremony at their site.

The standard of entries was very high this year, and the members of St George in Bloom hope that next year we will receive even more applications.

Details will be posted early next year on St George in Bloom’s website and Facebook page.

Many of the local projects involves the creation of colourful and rich sources of food for pollinating insects through the use of pollen – rich planting schemes.
